Motor innovation

M otor innovation has played a critical role in the development of modern society, transforming transportation and powering industries. The history of motor innovation dates back to the 19th century, when inventors and engineers began experimenting with the use of steam power to drive machinery. In 1860, French engineer Étienne Lenoir invented the first internal combustion engine, which was powered by a mixture of coal gas and air. This invention paved the way for further advancements in engine technology, including the use of gasoline as a fuel source. In 1886, German inventor Karl Benz introduced the first gasoline-powered automobile, which he called the "Motorwagen." This marked the beginning of the automotive industry, and sparked a period of rapid innovation in motor technology. Over the next several decades, engineers and inventors made significant improvements to internal combustion engines, including the development of overhead valves, superchargers, and turbochargers...
